Design Elements: Colour Fundamentals

NB This section of my blog relates to Graphic design level one.

This is a fab book, I’ve had it a while, but just re-read it. The opening section explains the colour  wheel, hue, saturation/chroma, value etc…Split complementary, analogous, triad….She then discusses colour in relation to graphic design, and gives loads of real life practical examples from across the world. There are some lovely posters and gorgeous “up market” food packaging. There are a few palettes, but mostly it encourages you to do your own exploration and gain experience with putting together effective colour schemes appropriate for a given brief.
